Data privacy and security are critical considerations when extracting data from a veterinary clinic. Ivee Software has a protocol for ensuring that animal health data is protected throughout the extraction process:

  1. We obtain written consent from veterinary clinics: Before extracting any data from a veterinary clinic, we obtain written consent from the clinic's owner or authorized representative. This outlines the purpose of the data extraction, how the data will be used, and how it will be protected.

  2. We use a secure connection for data transfer: When transferring data from the veterinary clinic's server to the Ivee Software data application, we use a secure connection such as a virtual private network (VPN) and a secure file transfer protocol (SFTP).

  3. We limit data access: Only authorized personnel should have access to the veterinary clinic’s data during extraction. We achieve this by setting up user accounts with individual logins and passwords and granting access only to the specific data needed for the project.

  4. We anonymize patient data: To protect patient privacy, all personally identifiable information (PII) such as names, addresses, and phone numbers are removed from the data set. Patient data is anonymized through encryption or other methods to ensure that individuals cannot be identified.

  5. We use secure storage: All data extracted from the veterinary clinic should is stored in a secure location, such as our cloud-based storage solution with appropriate access controls and encryption.

  6. We regularly monitor access and audit logs: Regularly monitoring who is accessing data and audit logs ensures that access is limited to authorized personnel only. Any suspicious activity is immediately investigated and reported.

  7. We comply with regulations: Ensuring that the data extraction protocol is compliant with all applicable laws and regulations, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

We stand by our word that animal health data is protected throughout the Ivee Software extraction process and that patient privacy is maintained.
